Help us lead group volunteer sessions! Urban Rivers has many organizations, schools, and other community groups come to care for the Wild Mile through garden maintenance and kayak trash clean-up. Because we are guiding so many people at once, many of whom are at the park for the first time, we need your help to facilitate these events!
Generally, group volunteer sessions will begin with a tour of the Wild Mile led by one of our staff, and then the group splits off to take turns kayaking or gardening. As a facilitator, you will help us to make sure everyone safely gets on and off the water, and that participants on land know which weeds or other areas of interest they should attend to. We recommend that facilitators have some previous volunteering experience with us, but all information that you will need to know for the event can be communicated to you day-of.
